Project Characteristics

The Prinos/Epsilon offshore facilities comprise of

  • Existing Alpha, Beta, Gamma, Delta platforms (oil)
  • Existing Subsea storage tank
  • Existing Kappa platform (gas)
  • New Epsilon platform (satellite oil field)

The associated 8" subsea gas pipeline and 2" pipeline for glycol injection between the platform and the onshore facilities run through a distance of 3.8 km and export oil and gas to the onshore Sigma plant. For storage of subsea oil surge a settlement tank with capacity of 270 m³ has been installed.

Foramex Petroleum And Construction has prepared an integrated field development plan and basic design for the Epsilon satellite oil field platform in 51.4 m water depths and for associated pipelines & umbilical.
As prime contractor for the subsea tank Foramex Petroleum And Construction provided basic & detail engineering, procurement, construction/installation management and commissioning services.

The Epsilon Field is located in an active earthquake zone. The high content of sulphur and asphaltene presented an additional challenge for the field development plan.
