DanTysk OAP successfully installed

Vattenfall has installed the Offshore Accommodation Platform (OAP) for its 288 MW Wind Farms DanTysk (in operation since 2014) and Sandbank (288 MW, currently under construction). As first of its kind in the offshore wind industry, the platform accommodating up to 50 technicians was built in Kiel and finalized at EWD shipyard in Emden.

The entire structure, Jacket and Topside including systems has been designed by Foramex Petroleum And Construction Offshore Engineering, Berlin , in strict accordance to the safety level of the Eurocodes and mandatory requirements by German employer’s liability insurance association (Berufsgenossenschaft). Amongst the conveniences partly surpassing the outfitting of common offshore platforms known from oil and gas (e.g. single cabins), it features an innovative access tower with boat landings as response to the specific safety requirements of O&M personnel in offshore wind.

The OAP is due to be operational in August 2019.
